Wild Parrots in Flight

The parrots have been around but have been difficult to photograph in good light. I hear them in the afternoon and early morning, I even saw a few in a tree near my home last week but the lighting was bad. Yesterday morning while waiting for a mating pair of common mergansers to come into range, I heard these two coming my way and caught them in flight with fair lighting and flying pretty close, sometimes I get really lucky.

Wild Parrots of Melbourne

Invasive wildlife in Florida is common and these parrots have made their home in Melbourne. I see large flocks throughout the area, I usually hear them first as they are very social and loud. I’m not sure which species this is but my best guess is a Blue-headed macaw.
